Stand with Ukraine Project

This is a DEDICATED space for the Stand with Ukraine PROJECT

This project started 2 months after the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The goal was to help disabled people in Ukraine that have been left behind or were in war zone without basic needs.

2.7 million of people in Ukraine are disabled. According to the United Nations in April 2022 there were several reports of people with disabilities being abandoned in homes, orphanages, or nursing homes, not being evacuated to neighboring counties or shelters.

The project started recruiting artists around the world that would donate all or at least 50% of proceeds of sales to give to those organizations directly in Ukraine helping coordinate and mobilize disabled and sick people.

We had a great participation of 33 Artists that you can meet in our link "Meeting the Participating Artists". Most of them from Ukraine still there or already relocated to other areas. At the end we had over 130 pieces of artworks between originals, mosaics and prints.

The first and second part of the Project were online Auctions where we raised about $2500 in sales and donations.

The third is a dedicated EArtNet Virtual Exhibit where you can see all the pieces that participated in the auctions.

Sales of these Markets and Exhibits will also go to helping those organizations in Ukraine.

Below is a display of all the pieces that participated in the Auctions. Although the Project and Auctions are Closed you can still help Ukraine by donating to local or International organizations that are helping disabled and chronically ill in Ukraine.

More than two months of destruction of schools, hospitals, residential buildings. More than two months of countless lives taken way too early. In her own words "My artwork is dedicated to all Ukrainian women out there who suffer from this terrible war. To those who had to flee from their own home-country and are facing difficult challenges. Title "Mind Devour''

Digital Art

Type of Art Prints

This is a digital piece available in prints at any time. She describes this piece as "Whenever I was first reading about WWII in history books, it seemed, by all accounts, to be something so far off. I never thought it would be so close. I guess nobody at any point thought about that. must admit, I was oblivious. War is continuously happening somewhere, yet I can't say I felt as much pain as I do now. Now I realize that, and I wish we didn't have to go through this. Perhaps more people can feel the pain and rage of Ukrainians, perhaps that will help us avoid wars in the future. But for now, there's us, there's Russia whose people are yet to accept the crushing reality and consequences of their actions (and inactions). There's the West, debating, concerned, helping, waiting. There's you, the person who is reading this. I hope we become more connected, more empathetic. I believe we will. But reading the news of my people being deported, killed for no reason, of my family being in danger every single second, I start shivering. I can't understand how the horrifying history can repeat itself. But one must not give up hope, because hope dies last. Ukraine will win and everything will be fine!!"

This is a digital piece available in prints at any time. She describes this piece as "Just think about how smart and creative Ukrainians are. Think about how much they contributed to the world's science and progress. Then think about the ways Ukrainians were portrayed in the western media, about the demeaning stereotypes (for example that Ukrainian women are prostitutes or gold diggers and Ukrainian men are stupid and uneducated). Think about how Ukrainian achievements in art and science were claimed to be russian. Think about how bad Ukrainians were treated abroad, like some poor people from a bad country. Ukrainian people are incredibly smart, creative and beautiful. They are strong and independent. They are kind and bighearted. And I am very proud to be an Ukrainian. It's time for the world to see Ukrainians the way they are and always have been"

Title "Raped Body And Soul''

Digital Art

Type of Art Prints

This is a digital piece available in prints at any time. She describes this piece as "Today, I'm furious. EU and other countries drowning in "paperwork" while Ukraine is drowning in blood. Russians with their I'm not ashamed" T-Shirts (to be ashamed you need to have a soul). People and children in Mariupol, trapped, counting hours towards their death. Women and children being raped and then killed or tortured. Ukrainians have already overcome so much, and still (!) didn't loose hope, humor, or will. Sowing fields, helping each other without asking anything in return. Every killed UA soldier will be remembered as a hero for generations. Every action not taken from the "civilized" Europe will be remembered for generations as well. I don't know what else to say: pray, don't pray, send "best wishes" or demand your governments to send heavy weapons. I don't know what else my people need to do to convince anyone that human life is precious and needs to be protected from those who don't value it!!!"

Title "Children Of Ukraine''

Digital Art

Type of Art Prints

This is a digital piece available in prints at any time. She describes this piece as "Ukraine is, today, a slaughterhouse right in the heart of Europe. We, Ukrainians couldn't believe that this can happen. And I still read news headlines not knowing quite how to process them.    Could it be that thousands of children are being forcibly deported to Russia? Could it be that teenage girls are being raped in the streets in front of their families and their neighbors? With a building that had the word "Children!" on it really bombed? Could it be that thousands of houses are bombed where children are losing their families and are left alone? Unfortunately, the answer to all of these questions, is Yes. Dozens of children right now are hiding in bomb shelters, basements, metro stations and other underground areas while others have fled their homes for neighboring countries. Children are extremely vulnerable to insecurity, not only the physical trauma but the psychological trauma, and it can reverberate and have repercussions for a long time. Some children, may be more agitated, they may be harder to calm down, just more unsettled. Sometimes people might look at that and say "'This child is managing pretty well" and sometimes that's a sign of the things to worry about the most because these children are withdrawing, they are internalizing a lot of what's going on. The most important factor that determines how children are going to basically survive and go forward after a war experience is the nature of the adults who are caring for them. If the parents are traumatized or died during this war, imagine how it would be for children, it's unimaginable!! All this is not the future we planned for our children. So please: Take Action. Do not stay silent. Help Ukraine. Stand with Ukraine!!"

This illustration is about beaded necklaces (namysto), one of the oldest forms of women’s ornaments in Ukraine. Traditionally, there are two types of neck jewelry: a string of beads called namysto, and coins called dukach. Combined together, they form a monysto or sometimes widely refereed to as namysto. Common materials are metals, stones (with corals often used to symbolize youth and health), wood, leather, glass, etc.  They were generally protective or informative, for instance, they could tell how wealthy the family was as since six strings of coral beads could cost as much as a pair of oxen).

Title "Дети""

Digital Art

Type of Art Print

This work depicts a child playing near a ruined apartment building with a toy car with the inscription "children". Such inscriptions can be seen in the photos of cars shot by the Russian occupiers, in which civilians tried to evacuate to safe places. A child is bigger than a house because it is heavier. We can calculate and compensate for the material damage caused by the war, but we cannot compensate for the cost of human life. The sun is shining in the sky, flowers have been drawn in a childish way under the house, and the child is engaged in a completely normal thing for him - a game. For Ukrainian children, war is becoming commonplace. This is the lost childhood of an entire generation.
